Analysis

CRISI and RCE's current authorization expires September 30, 2026

Both programs' IIJA funding authorization and advance appropriations run out at the end of this fiscal year. The House's BUILD America 250 Act (H.R. 8870) would reauthorize CRISI at roughly $9.1 billion over five years but convert it to ordinary annual appropriations, and would reauthorize RCE at $675 million a year — down from IIJA's $5.5 billion. The Senate has not released a companion bill. Worth watching for any operator planning past this fiscal year.
